April Facilities Update

Transformation is happening on all the CHS campuses! Earlier last month, a walk-through was held on the new Rapid City campus. Program Directors, CHS leadership, project partners and the Rapid City Building Ad Hoc Committee met to walk though, over and around the building and address construction concerns. Final schematics were also presented. Read on to learn more.

      • Participants walked through, over and around the building to ensure all construction items were addressed
      • Final schematics were presented
      • Plans were made to move forward

• Area D: Outpatient Mental Health Services Clinic/ CAC Space
  • Design is finalized
    • Finishes, hardware and casework are to be determined
  • RFP for furniture in this space has been awarded
  • RFPs awarded this month for:
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Plumbing
    • Fire Sprinkler

• Areas A, B and C: Residential, Education, Foundation and Admin Support
  • Design is finalized
    • Finishes, furniture and hardware are being discussed and reviewed

• Temporary locations are now fully operational on the new campus
  • Temporary space support:
    • Outpatient Mental Health Services Clinic
    • CAC
    • Foundation/Marketing
  • The collaboration classrooms at the Rapid City Lincoln School Building are now operational
• Security System Upgrades
  • Completed at:
    • SFCH campus
    • BHCH Rockerville campus
  • Updates provide improved security to kids, families and staff

CHS leadership, Program Directors, project partners and the Rapid City Building Ad Hoc Committee met last month to do a campus walk-through and address construction concerns.

Everyone had the opportunity to tour the campus and look at all parts of the building. In this photo, CHS Board Chair Jack Marsh is on top of the roof and CAO Mark Neimeyer climbs the ladder behind him.

BH Residential Program Director Freddy Maseman asks JLG questions about the schematic of Area C, which is where the residential units will be. Everyone had the opportunity to ask our project partners questions to better understand the construction plans.
