April 2026 Quarterly Board Meeting Highlights

If you missed last April’s Quarterly Board Meeting, here are a few of the highlights.

• • CHS Board committees provided an update on organizational, financial and Board initiatives.
  • The Promise Campaign surpassed its original $15 million goal in just over one year, reaching $15.4 million, with a new stretch goal of $20 million established ahead of the Rapid City campus opening.
  • Leadership provided an update on the proposed Aberdeen Day School, a new initiative designed to address critical service gaps in Northeast South Dakota and expand access to therapeutic educational services for children and families.
    • The Board authorized management to move forward with negotiations related to the Aberdeen project and approved submission of the associated state grant application.
  • Updates were also shared on the organization’s 2024–2027 Strategic Plan and development of the next strategic planning cycle in partnership with Sagency.
  • The Board approved Laura Johnson for a three-year term on the Foundation Board.
