Top 5 Things to Know About the FAI Committee
The FAI committee:- oversees a wide range of financial responsibilities:
- Reviews financial statements
- Appoints the auditor
- Reviews the auditor’s report
- Reviews budgets
- Reviews tax returns
- Monitors investment manager performance in line with our Investment Policy Statement
- Works closely with our investment manager, First Premier Bank, to provide CHS with the level of service a foundation of our size requires
- Prioritizes clear and consistent communication
- Tracks investment performance against benchmarks set in the Investment Policy Statement, helping the endowment deliver the support the Society needs
- Documents key decisions to give future members a clear record of why things happened
Highlights from the past year include:
- Approval of the construction costs for the new Rapid City Campus
- Approval of the sale of the Jolly Lane property
- Approval of the land purchased next to Shelter for Family Safety
These priorities reflect the committee’s goal to protecting CHS’s financial health and guarantee that our resources are used effectively and efficiently to support our mission.
Co-chairs Matt Benne and Marty DesLauriers say that it’s the people around the table who make the work meaningful.
