Dr. Tamara Ulmer, Vice President OMHS

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tamara Ulmer joined CHS as the new Vice President of Outpatient Mental Health Services!Dr. Ulmer brings experience, leadership and clinical expertise to CHS. She earned a doctorate in marriage and family therapy and a master’s in social work, demonstrating her commitment to the field and her understanding of the diverse needs of children and families.
 
Prior to CHS, she served as the Supervisory Integrated Prevention Chief at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, where she has led multidisciplinary teams and advanced prevention-focused mental health initiatives. Dr. Ulmer also worked as a Clinical Therapist at Scovel Psychology, where she provided high‑quality therapeutic care to individuals and families.
 
We look forward to the leadership, energy and expertise she will bring to CHS!

Mark Sigette, Director of Facilities

Shelter Facilities Supervisor Mark Sigette recently accepted the position of Director of Facilities. Mark has been with CHS for almost 12 years and brings valuable experience and leadership to his new role. Before joining CHS, Mark worked for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and held a variety of leadership positions. We are excited for him to begin his new role and can’t wait to see all that he will accomplish!

Dr. Brian Wilson, Chief Medical Officer

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brian Wilson recently took on several leadership roles that reflect his expertise and dedication! He was appointed to multiple new positions at the community, state and national levels.

    • Appointed by the dean of the USD Sanford School of Medicine to a three–year term on the medical school’s admissions committee.
    • Re-appointed as one of two representatives from South Dakota to the National Psychiatric Association.
    • Named Chair of the South Dakota State Medical Association Foundation Board.
    • Serves as a representative for the Black Hills District on the South Dakota State Medical Association Policy Council.
    • Member of the consultation team for SD-BEAM, which is a program through Sanford School of Medicine’s Center for Disabilities.

In addition to these new positions, Dr. Wilson was recently appointed by Governor Larry Rhoden to the Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee, which advises the Department of Social Services on cost-effective drug services.
